The Elect – God’s Chosen People

The Elect are the Children of God – Saved by the Lord Jesus Christ

Christ’s Coming Attended by Signs and Natural Phenomena: Rider on the White Horse (See verses 11-16). The Elect are the Saints or Christians which God has given to Jesus and He holds them in His Hands. “My Father, which gave [them] me, is greater than all; and no [man] is able to pluck [them] out of my Father’s hand” (John 10:29). How Do I Become a Christian ?

At the Rapture He will call His bride which is the church (Saints and Christians), to meet Him in the air along with the dead in Christ.

1 Thess. 4:16 -17 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:” “Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord”.

“And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other” (Matthew 24:31).

These are the seed of Abraham who have been chosen before the foundation of the world as God knew they would turn to Jesus.

Ephesians 1:4 “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love”.

“For as the lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.” “Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.” “Immediately after the distress of those days “the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.” “At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.” “And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other” (Matt. 24:27-31).

This prediction of our Lord Himself concerning His Glorious Appearing is taken from the Olivet Discourse. It reveals that He will come visibly and become the object of attention. The sun, moon, and stars will not give their lights, but all attention will be focused on “the sign of the Son of Man that will appear in the sky,” after which “all the nations of the earth will mourn” because they have not prepared themselves for that Day.

Then all people will see Christ, who is the Light, “coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.” At this moment the 2nd installment of the Rapture will occur, when Christ gathers together “his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.”

Isaiah 65 states: And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there (verse 9). And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her nor the voice of crying (verse 19). And mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands (verse 22b). For they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them (verse 23b). The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent’s meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the Lord (verse 25).

The “Elect“ (see Isaiah 65:9 and 22), here means the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. They are being gathered by the angels from every part of earth and taken to Israel where Christ has arrived to destroy Antichrist, rescue His people, and set up His kingdom.
